My better half, sister, and I went to the S S Lobster, in Fitchburg to have
dinner Sis wanted to buy us a fairly nice dinner to say thank you.

People said how good this place was, and we had bought fish from them in their
market before, so we figured we would try it for dinner.

We beat the crowd in, and it was a good thing, because service was terrible. You
order at a small window, it took three passes to get the order right, and then
you wait until your number is called, and they put a plastic tray of food on
your table. The food is on/in Styrofoam, paper, or plastic and there isn't a
hint of a real fork or spoon in sight. It also took a long time before it came
out, and there were only two other tables with people eating when we got there.

The food was heavy with grease, the bathrooms were filthy, if you order a
lobster, you get a plastic fork and knife, and nothing to crack the shell with.
They kind of crack it for you. If you want it cracked more, you have to bring
it back, stand in line (while it gets cold), and they will do it for you.
Stopping one of the people as they run in and out of the kitchen will not get
you any help.

I have bought fish here before, and was happy with the quality, but the
restaurant is a skip.

If this stuff [Scientology OT powers] is so good,
how come they [cult members] can never show how
good it really is?

WOW,

Either you caught them on a bad night, which happens, or the place
has really gone downhill since I last went there, which was back in
1992. That may not be the best gauge as the place could have changed
hands.

If you are in that area, you could have driven an extra 20 minutes
and gone to Kay's in Westminster. The food is awsome and the value is
insane. I went twice last summer, which is alot since I don't live in
that area anymore. One time I got the lobster roll. It was about $5
and weighed about 1\2 a pound (if you like lobster rolls, you may also
want to try the store made rolls at Shaw's Supermarket, $3.99 and just
crazy how big it is!!). Another time at Kay's last summer I got the
large order of fried lobster. I think it was about $15.99 and LARGE
does not do the portion justice! I mean it was a HUGE container FULL
of fried lobster, maybe weighed over 2lbs..

Kay's in Westminster, they are a Dairy Queen type of place, but were
around long before DQ, and blow them away. Might be rt140 in
Westminster, not sure.

If it's a plate of greasy fried seafood you're looking for, I've gotten
good values at Jackie's Dairy Bar in Leominster, on 13 right at Route
2. Same type of deal.

JACKIES!!!

Wow, what a blast from the past! Not too bad at all, right down
the same street is a nice little diner, can't remember the name for
the life of me, but a nice lunch place.

Also, down neat Searstown Mall, there is an excellent Chinese place
called Chopstix (s), might be a different name these days. Gret food
there as well. In fact, now that Jackies has my memory working here,
there is a boatload of GREAT places out that way.

Help me with this one guys as I haven't been out that way in so long,
but there used to be a place called "Conrads", I believe was in
Lunenburg, AWSOME seasonal place, like Kays, and there is a place on
one of those backroads in between rt12 and 117 in Sterling.

Again, awsome stuff.

I have to get out of here, now. I am starting to get hungry, LOL.

Conrads is indeed a fried food stand in Lunenburg and it's been there for
about fifty years, I think. I don't know if I'd say it's "awesome", but we
used to go there when I was a kid and enjoyed it.
