I can request the day off and/or make sure it's not going to conflict

Gene's is a tiny little Chinese place that has an equally tiny
menu, featuring flatbread sandwiches (all of two) and YUMMY
hand-pulled noodles that arrive covered with hot pepper flakes.
It is on rte 110 in Chelmsford. If you do a search for
"Chelmsford" + Gene's Flatbread Cafe, you will find some raves. I
gather there was a chowhound expedition, for one thing.

I can't go until after the 15th (dr's appt--and I am hoping to
avoid a live biopsy...).

sounds like a worthy expedition. i can recommend a few other places
too. little q hot pot in arlington has great hot pots and a mala broth
that will clean out your arteries! :) it also has a very good regular
chinese menu.

if you like higher end italian, i will join the chorus for il casale in
belmont center. finally went there after hearing about it for 3
years. it was worth it. more in another post.

hot pots can be totally uncarby if you don't order or eat noodles. you
can order a la carte veggies and meats to cookin the broth.

browser. Anyway, it looks like it'd be easy to avoid carbs.
Tuesday the 25th and Wednesday the 26th are particularly good for
me, as far as next week goes. Or are we looking beyond then?

I still want to do Gene's, but that will be after Oct. 15th, so we
could do Little Q first. Sounds good to me.

is this for lunch or dinner? next wednesday is yom kippur (not that i
observe it) but others might. tuesday, 9/25 lunch looks open to me. little q

and Uri? If LittleQ doesn't happen this week, I'm not EATING
again until after October 15th. (I hope I won't be seriously
bummed out then.) I REALLY want those noodles.... They are so

I'm glad someone will!!!! You do like spicy food, yes? The
noodles LOOK like they are going to blow your head off... but
they don't. The texture is divine. (Splashing is a possibility.
There are possibly two huge noodles per dish. I couldn't figure
out whether that was deliberate or whether, ideally, there would
be ONE noodle.)

I'm glad someone will!!!! You do like spicy food, yes? The noodles LOOK
like they are going to blow your head off... but they don't. The texture
is divine. (Splashing is a possibility. There are possibly two huge
noodles per dish. I couldn't figure out whether that was deliberate or
whether, ideally, there would be ONE noodle.)

Well, the day was today and the party consisted of Dan and me. Nice place,
flavorful broth, good meats and vegetables.

We did the Mala (spicy) broth and Chinese miso for contrast, the special platter
that consisted of shaved Prime Rib, short rib, lamb, fish cake, scallops, sea bass,
flounder, noodles, dumpings, and assorted vegetables.
